Margie - the purpose of this message board is to allow our patrons to comment about our shows. We do read everything that is posted. But we do not consider it appropriate to respond to comments unless we think a factual clarification is necessary. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I'd be curious as to what MusicalFare thinks about all these negative things being said. Comments from the company in response to any of these people seem scarce. Does MusicalFare take these comments to heart? Do they agree? Do they disagree? Do they even care? Just adding some of my thoughts Ron. … more I saw MID-LIFE and didn't like it.

By that description, SISTER'S OF SWING. ALTAR BOYZ AND BRIEF HISTORY OF WHITE MUSIC would be perfect summer show choices. And, John, I'm not saying that you implied that. But they would be. It's probably not best to have 3 or 4 lighter and not having to think musicals in a season. There probably … more should be more challenging material for the majority of a season's worth of musicals, or plays for that matter. Any thoughts, anyone? Did I go off on a tangent from the previous posts? Hehe

Arlene - thanks for your reply. From what I gather from what I've heard, MusicalFare makes an effort to do lighter and less serious musicals for their summer show. It's hot - people don't want to work to think too much for their summer theatre, etc. That said - I'm not suggesting that MID LIFE … more is the only choice or the perfect choice - but I think that is one of the reasons why it was chosen.

John, I'm very sorry that you took offense at my post. It wasn't my intention. I was merely pointing what you brought up. That there are differing opinions. I'm not saying at all that your opinion is not valid. I would never tell you what you should or shouldn't see. That would be silly of me. … more People can have different opinion's and that should be fine. Open dialogue is also good, as long as people are respectful. For what it's worth, I haven't seen the show yet. I don't think there's anything wrong with seeking out "people's opinions" and coming to some conclusion as to what show you may choose to go see. It does seem that there are many neagtive things said about this particular production. I acknowledge that good thins have been said as well.I do plan on going and forming my own opinion. I read these posts from time to time and I always feel like sending one in. This time I did...and look what happened? In my first post the only words that came from me (not from a review), was this question. Does MusicalFare want to be compared to dinner theater? And I still should hope not. Most, if not all the reviews posted about this show are from dinner theaters. Which lead me to believe that this show isn't done in many regular theaters. To be fair "dinner theater" can be great fun. There's food and drink to add to the merriment. The atmosphere is different. For the most part the show's that are chosen are usually lighter and the expectations are not as high. It get's a rap of being inferior theater. In most cases it usually is, that's why there's food and drink. If I'm going to a normal theater, I expect better and I should. Sorry to be so long winded. I guess I'm just sorry for everything...lol
